Family Day at the Park

Bring the family out to the park for some outdoor fun. Spend a few hours or more but it won't break the bank, only $18 per car!
IF there is snow -- enjoy DIY: snowshoeing, tobogganing, hiking (not on ski tracks), cross country skiing and snow sculpture building.
No snow? You can still enjoy a cold weather hike - find the gnome trail and watch for wildlife like deer, rabbits and hawks.
There will be activities at the Nature Centre - the kids will enjoy seeing the turtles and seeing what is new at the centre.
The ever popular Children's Farm and Playbarn will have the kids laughing and smiling. (They will also be so tired out from jumping climbing and sliding that they might just go to bed early!)
Dress for the weather and be sure to bring your phone/ camera to capture all the family fun/ memories.
Family Day Weekend at Art Gallery of Ontario

The AGO is throwing a weekend-long art bash and the whole family is invited. Beginning on Friday February 14 of Family Day weekend, the theme is “togetherness” and there are abundant art-making activities planned gallery-wide, including:
• The AGO’s Fall Artist-in-Residence Ness Lee will take over Walker Court and debut her interactive artwork. Hint: it will involve large interactive moments of play!
• Family-friendly tours of the AGO Collection with spoken word artists.
• Creating hand-molded pinch pots and planting seeds in them.
• A dedicated quiet space with soft toys and soothing music where visitors of all ages can take a break.

Strap on your skates and zoom across the scenic Natrel Rink overlooking Lake Ontario. The Harbourfront Centre is offering free skating lessons for the whole family. Afterwards, warm up with a hot chocolate and sweet treats from the Beaver Tails booth located near Pier 6.

There’s always something fun going on at the Ontario Science Centre over Family Day weekend. This year, learn about the solar system at the Planetarium, discover the ancient art of papermaking and get charged up at the (literally) hair-raising Van de Graaff generator.
Little scientists will be especially dazzled by the Energy Show – a 30-minute interactive and animated investigation into the different types of renewable and non-renewable sources of energy. Family Day at Nathan Phillips Square

Bring the family to Nathan Phillips Square at City Hall from 1 to 4 p.m. for a fun-filled outing, sponsored by Tim Hortons.
City of Toronto Recreation staff will be on-hand to share skating tips. There will also be games and activities on the ice.
